Survey says...
REC members rate energy issue importance
Oct. 2007 survey shows what members think our priorities should be
When 13 Wisconsin cooperatives asked their members to take a survey to rank the leading energy issues of today, 466 responses were collected. Rock Energy Cooperative was not able to participate in the original survey, so we decided to ask our members to rank the same items in a separate survey we conducted in October of 2007.
We asked 500 members (for whom we have current email addresses) to tell us where they want Rock Energy to concentrate its efforts in the coming year by taking a brief online survey. We also made the survey available to members attending our Member Appreciation Day event on October 6, 2007.
A total of 218 members ranked the importance of each issue on a scale of 1 (low) to 5 (high). Respondents were not limited to rating each issue against the others, so there is no clear most to least importance ranking overall.
Not surprisingly, members ranked "maintain reasonable prices/rates" and "provide reliable electric power" as their two top concerns. Pricing received a 4.694 out of 5 importance rank, while reliability received a 4.658. Both of those were slightly above the statewide averages (shown in the lighter blue on each bar) from the earlier survey.

A co-op runs on and in the direction set by its members, so we continue to depend on hearing from as many of our members as we can. We are pleased that the Internet give us one more way to talk with members and intend to add polls and surveys to this site of both local and general interest here on our "Survey Says..." page frequently.
If you're a member and would like to receive an invitation to participate in any of our surveys via email, please email our Member Relations Department to be added to our email notice list. Please be sure to include your name, primary email address and account number in the body of your message.
Results of future polls and surveys will either be immediately tallied and available onsite, or will be posted after all results are tallied.
